About Us

Our History

From humble beginnings to a thriving academy of over a thousand students, discover our journey of faith, excellence, and leadership.

Royal Family Academy (RFA) Abuja, a subsidiary of Family Ministries International (FMI), is a Christian school born out of the vision of the Late Pastor Ina Omakwu.

The nursery section was commissioned on Friday, 27th September 2002 by Pastors Ina and Sarah Omakwu. Academic activities commenced on Monday, 30th September 2002 with twenty-nine pupils and seventeen staff members.

As the school population grew, we expanded into the Primary and later the High School, inaugurated on 24th September 2007 at Wuye, Abuja. Today, RFA has grown to over a thousand students with a robust staff strength, offering an integrated national and international curriculum infused with a biblical worldview and leadership training.

We are members of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and we are an attached centre for Cambridge IGCSE and CIE examinations. Beyond academics, RFA offers rich co-curricular opportunities including sports, arts, clubs, excursions, and cultural exchanges. A state-of-the-art permanent site with boarding and sporting facilities is underway at Daki-Biyu, Abuja.
